What is Shade?
Shade is the brainchild of Los Angeles DJs Porter Tinsley and divaDanielle. It is a monthly daytime event, taking place at various outdoor locations. Past locations have included Woodley Park in Van Nuys and Zuma Beach. Shade combines great dance music of all sorts with the laid back attitude of a picnic where anyone is welcome. Partygoers bring dogs, kids, hoops, picnics, shade structures, anything to make the day more comfortable...oh, and of course their dancing shoes!
Shade is absolutely FREE! But, past events have collected donations to support causes such as Heal the Bay and InvalidateProp8.org.
